Care advice for Jean Vier Articles

 

The majority of Jean Vier articles today, are assured maximum fabric stability, however a small degree of shrinkage, to the order of more or less 4% is possible after the first wash.

Cotton or mixed linens with water resistant treatment (easy clean fabrics):

- Do not prewash. 
- In case of staining, when possible, absorb or dab up the liquids with a damp sponge, after having removed any solid staining remnants. 
- Machine wash at 40° with little detergent. 
- Do not overfill the washing machine and select a gentle rinse / spin cycle.
- Iron on reverse the fabric at higher temperatures on the backside of the cloth, will regenerate the water resistant quality, which will diminish with time.
- Do not tumble dry.

Linen: natural, cream coloured linen, fades progressively with repeated washes.

Don’t forget to include all the set of linen at each wash so as to maintain matching shades.

We advise that our table linen be first pre-washed, prior to its first utilisation in a cold or low temperature wash cycle. This ensures the elimination of any residues from the finishing process, and Avoid the inlay of spots in the fiber.
Reminder: a stain will be harder to remove on non pre-washed table linen.
- Everyday cleaning, according to the degree of staining, wash at 40° to 60° (maximum) with a colour specific detergent separately from synthetic fabrics or other cotton articles (to avoid pilling).
- Dry at a moderate temperature.

Reminder: tumble drying may be used:
- With a gentle drying program.
- Do not fill the drum to over two thirds.
- Avoid mixing different types of fabrics as drying times vary according to the material.

Your iron must be hot.

Coloured bathroom linen

We advise that our bathroom linen be first pre-washed, prior to its first utilisation in a cold or low temperature wash cycle. This ensures the elimination of any residues from the finishing process, and makes the fibre of the fabric that much more stain resistant
Reminder: a stain will be harder to remove on non pre-washed bathroom linen.

- Machine wash at 40° maximum.
- With towelling, avoid detergents with whitening agents that cause fading.
- No bleach. 
- Avoid fabric softeners that reduce the absorptive qualities of the towelling.
- Tumble drying is allowed as at moderate temperatures and this will add volume and softness to towelling materials. Reminder: tumble drying may be used:
- With a gentle drying program.
- Do not fill the drum to over two thirds.
Avoid mixing different types of fabrics as drying times vary according to the materiel.

Bags

- Wash sparsely at 30°c, if necessary with a little detergent, without fabric softener or spinning.
- Avoid detergents with whitening agents that cause fading.
- Do not tumble dry, dry flat.
- Do not use bleach.

Coated Linen

- Do not pre-wash.
- Clean with a damp sponge.
- In case of an accident :
- Rapidly use a non abrasive sponge dampened with warm water. 
- Do not use washing up liquid or any other household cleaning products.
- Only if absolutely necessary, exceptionally, may be machine washed at 30° with a little detergent, without softener, do not spin dry.
- Do not tumble dry.
- May be ironed at low temperature on the rear surface.

How to treat wine chocolate, tea or coffee stains

In the case of an accident with any of the above liquids, act immediately to minimise their penetration into the fibres.


- WINE: Dab immediately with absorbent paper or cloth  Reminder: Never use salt to try to eliminate wine stains. After the meal, machine wash according to the instructions.
-COFFEE : Hydrogen peroxide may be used. 
- TEA : wash immediately before the stain has time to dry.

Then Machine wash according to instructions.
